TBP is taking February off. 

Dave King brings his Trucking Band to the AQ in St. Paul this weekend, 3 and 4. On 11 he's in Bearsville NY with David Torn, Tim Berne, and Ches Smith.

Speaking of Tim Berne, his new ECM album Snakeoil with Oscar Noriega, Matt Mitchell and Ches Smith is great!  Don't miss the band on a major American tour later this month.  Details here.

On March 2 Sam Newsome and I play duo at Cornelia Street Cafe.

I'm not so familiar with the ins and outs Clare Fischer's long career, although of course I know that his voice leading was exquisite. Doug Ramsey looks at one corner of the discography.  Peter Hum has some nice clips.  Bassists should hear an early trio disc Surging Ahead, which has some marvelous exposed Albert Stinson.
